Sustainability in telecom operators infrastructures : How can innovations in products and services integrate the environmental impact for the planet? What are telecom operators strategies to reduce the carbon footprint of their networks?

The objective of the panel is to discuss the strategies that key operators are implementing to improve their energy efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint used by their network infrastructures, with projects such as transitions to renewable energies, innovations to improve the ratio kWh of electricity vs. TB of data usage, introduction of 5G networks, transition to fiber from coaxial or copper or strategies to balance carbon footprint on a global scale.

Time to be announced soon

Set-top-boxes and broadband CPE strategies : How can the energy efficiency of hardware improve to meet social and environmental standards?

This panel aims at discussing the strategies implemented by major European operators to improve their energy efficiency, recycling and e-waste at the customer level. Consumer electronics and equipment will constitute the main focus, in particular broadband CPE, set-top-boxes as well as smartphones.

Time to be announced soon

Consumer preferences: how can ecological efforts align with business objectives?

Broadcasting is considered to be an energy cost-efficient distribution in particular to reach mass markets. How far is this statement valid in European markets? How do broadcast technologies and processes compare with the newly launched OTT services?

Environmental performance in TV broadcasting: have traditional television models and technologies proven to be more advanced than the digital video ones?

Broadcasting is considered to be an energy cost-efficient distribution in particular to reach mass markets. How far is this statement valid in European markets? How do broadcast technologies and processes compare with the newly launched OTT services?

Time to be announced soon

How can content providers and OTT services steer their strategies to add greener technologies for their operations?

Very large content providers have the power and resources to find internal and external solutions and improve their environmental impact. What strategies did they implement and which objectives are achievable for smaller actors, given their different options? The panel will focus in particular on data centers and content delivery networks that constitute epicenters of the clean economy energy.

Time to be announced soon

Audiovisual production: how can actors implement energy-efficient systems throughout the production process?

The average carbon emission associated with one hour of TV production reaches several tons. Many tools have been implemented to evaluate all projects precisely, such as Albert in the UK. This panel will emphasize on the concrete actions implemented by key TV and content producers.

Time to be announced soon

Extending the scope of ecological decisions: can the supply chain follow?

The efforts implemented by telecom and media actors would be multiplied if they could get their partners and suppliers of all departments involved for improved environmental standards and reduced carbon footprint. How have standards evolved? What strategies are within range of TMT operators? Has the environmental impact become a parameter when it comes to tender evaluation?

Time to be announced soon

Greenhouse gas emissions measurement: what are the tools to measure companies' emissions to implement accurate carbon-reduction strategies?

How can telecom and media actors measure their footprint? On which tech, advising or audit company can they rely to precisely measure their impact and to implement their strategy?
